OVERVIEW
Vietnam is an enticing destination for people living in the UAE because it offers a refreshing change of scenery. Lush mountains, pristine beaches, vibrant cities, and cool climates that contrast beautifully with the desert environment. Just a 7–8-hour flight away, it’s easily accessible with direct connections from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, making it perfect for both short getaways and longer holidays.
Vietnam also offers exceptional value for money, with luxury hotels in affordable prices, food, shopping and experiences, allowing UAE travellers to enjoy luxury at a much lower cost. Its rich culture, history, street markets, and world-famous cuisine add to the appeal, while adventure lovers can enjoy trekking, cruises, island hopping, and scenic road trips.
Vietnam is a destination where luxury, culture, and breathtaking landscapes come together effortlessly, making it ideal for travellers seeking indulgent escapes. A well-crafted Vietnam tour can begin in Ho Chi Minh City, where French colonial architecture meets high-end dining and designer boutiques. Here, travellers can explore the city’s dynamic history at the War Remnants Museum before venturing to the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels, a profound symbol of Vietnam’s resilience. The city also offers exquisite dining options. Don’t miss dishes like pho, banh xeo, caramelised clay-pot fish, and the iconic Vietnamese iced coffee.
Further north, the exclusive charm of Hoi An is perfect for those booking refined Vietnam package holidays. This lantern-lit heritage town is known for its spellbinding Lantern Festival, elegant riverside restaurants, and boutique tailors. Travellers can elevate their cultural immersion with luxurious cooking workshops, learning to create specialties such as cao lau, white rose dumplings, and banh bao vac. Nearby, the spectacular Ba Na Hills enchants visitors with its scenic cable car ride, the renowned Golden Bridge, and upscale hilltop resorts offering sweeping mountain views.
Hanoi is a tapestry of French-colonial elegance and contemporary sophistication. Hanoi blends tree-lined boulevards with artisanal cafés and polished cultural corners. By night, the city glows with refined energy—silk boutiques, boutique hotels, and curated culinary experiences lending it an unmistakably luxe allure. While Halong Bay, another top draw in Vietnam, is a sanctuary of jade waters and soaring limestone formations. Halong Bay is best savored from the privacy of a luxury cruise drifting through its misty seascape. Tranquil coves and hidden grottoes invite exclusive exploration, turning every moment on the water into an opulent escape.
Couples seeking unforgettable Vietnam honeymoon packages will find romance in Hue, home to the ancient Imperial Citadel, royal tombs, and serene pagodas that whisper stories of the Nguyen Dynasty. Moving north, Hanoi blends timeless Vietnamese culture with refined elegance—French villas, atmospheric markets, lakeside cafés, and gourmet restaurants serving exceptional dishes like bun cha and egg coffee. It also serves as the gateway to the jade waters of Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay, where luxury cruises glide through limestone cliffs and secluded lagoons.
Travellers exploring bespoke Vietnam holiday package deals should also consider Vietnam’s pristine coastline. The country boasts spectacular beaches such as My Khe Beach in Da Nang, Nha Trang Beach, the tranquil shores of Mui Ne, and the white-sand luxury of Phu Quoc Island. With a highly customisable Vietnam travel itinerary, visitors can blend culture, cuisine, romance, and relaxation—ensuring a journey that feels both luxurious and deeply enriching.
Best time to visit Vietnam
Vietnam’s climate varies widely. The north has cool winters and warm summers, the central coast enjoys long dry spells but is typhoon-prone in autumn, and the south and Mekong regions stay warm and tropical year-round with a clear dry season.
North Vietnam
Popular places include Hanoi, Sapa, Ha Long Bay, and Ninh Binh. The best time to visit is October–April, when the weather is cool, clear, and pleasant. This period is ideal for trekking, sightseeing, and Ha Long Bay cruises without heavy rains or extreme heat.
South Vietnam
Key destinations are Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta, and Phu Quoc. The best time to visit is December–April, the dry and sunny season. This is perfect for beaches, island trips and exploring the Mekong without monsoon showers.
East Vietnam (Central Coast)
Highlights include Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, and Nha Trang. The best time to visit is February–August, which brings a long, stable dry season. These months offer ideal weather for beaches, heritage towns, and coastal sightseeing before the typhoon period.
West Vietnam
Notable places are Can Tho, Chau Doc, Ha Giang (northwest), and Mai Chau. The best time to visit is December–April, when it’s warm with minimal rain. This season is great for river experiences, floating markets, and rural landscapes without high humidity.
UAE – Vietnam Connectivity
The UAE is well connected to Vietnam with several direct Emirates flights from Dubai to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang, all taking around 7–8 hours, along with multiple one-stop options via Doha, Singapore, and other hubs offered by airlines like Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines. Travel between the two countries is convenient, with frequent flight availability, though UAE citizens generally require a Vietnam e-visa before arrival.
Visa rules for UAE Nationals and Residents
UAE nationals require a visa to enter Vietnam and can apply online for a Vietnam e-Visa, valid for up to 90 days with single or multiple entry options. Processing usually takes 3–5 working days, and applicants need a passport valid for six months, a photo, a passport scan, and an onward or return ticket. The e-Visa, which costs around US$25 for single entry and US$50 for multiple entry, allows entry through numerous airports and border checkpoints, though it cannot be extended once inside Vietnam.
For UAE residents who are not UAE citizens, visa rules depend on their nationality, not residency status, and they must check requirements based on their passport, applying either through the Vietnamese e-Visa system or the Vietnamese Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
