Direct flights operate daily from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to major United Kingdom cities including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh. Leading carriers such as Emirates, Etihad Airways, British Airways and other international airlines offer multiple nonstop options making travel convenient and efficient.
Visa for UAE Nationals and Residents
UAE nationals no longer use the old Electronic Visa Waiver system, as the United Kingdom has replaced it with the Electronic Travel Authorisation ETA. Emirati passport holders must apply for an ETA before travelling, and it allows stays of up to six months for tourism, short business trips, short study, or medical visits. UAE residents who are not Emirati citizens must follow the entry rules that apply to their own passport nationality. Only nationals of specific ETA eligible countries, such as GCC citizens, can use the ETA system. All other passport holders residing in the UAE must apply for a standard United Kingdom visitor visa, which requires documentation, biometrics, and advance processing.
